VIScon 2021 - Call for Proposals
PSA: Even though the current situation around COVID-19 opens a lot of questions about events that are planned for later this year, including VIScon 2021, we will continue our planning as usual. Please note, however, that the realization of VIScon 2021 is by no means assured at this point and that you will have to bear your expenses and costs. Please be aware that by submitting a proposal, you accept the terms and conditions. Make sure to regularly check our blog or to follow our social media to get updates concerning COVID-19-induced restrictions on VIScon 2021. Stay healthy!
Dear Expert
Herewith, we want to clearly state what VIScon is about and what we would like to see at our event. Our vision will help you to identify whether this is a mission you wish to support and if it aligns with your views. Please make sure to read it before entering your submission.
Over the last years, VIScon has grown from a computer science conference at ETH to an ever more key event uniting speakers and attendees from diverse backgrounds with a strong interest in technology. We are again paying close attention to having a strong representation of female speakers in this year’s schedule to foster diversity in STEM fields. Furthermore, we always like to see interdisciplinary talks and workshops uniting different disciplines and showing concrete examples of IT applications. This includes topics that are at the interface of two or more areas of research such as LegalTech or FinTech.
Generally speaking, talks that dive deeper into your field of excellence are very welcomed and wanted. We want to see something that is usually hidden behind lab doors. Don’t be scared of submitting something that might sound too technical or specialized. Your audience will mainly consist of detail-loving students that want to know it all.
Please make sure to read the proposal guidelines and feel free to send us an email if you have any further questions. We have also created user guides if you need additional support.
Kindest regards
Your Symposium Team
